 THE EXPERIENCED TEAM - ADMINISTRATION

Mike Steinhardt, President
Mike's connection to heavy equipment started early. His dad was a contractor. In 1970, after graduating from a small preparatory school in Morristown, NJ, he attended Lincoln Technical Institute. Mike spent the first years of his career as a heavy equipment field mechanic with various companies becoming an ASE certified Master Heavy Duty Truck Tech, as well as an AWS 6G certified welder. In 1982 he formed his own company, Steinhardt Machinery, in Augusta, NJ. The company's goal was to service the construction drilling industry. In addition to setting the standard for customer support that made the company successful, Steinhardt Machinery also built specialized drilling and grouting equipment. In 1986 the company was sold to a leader in the Geotech Industry, Kerr Construction. Mike joined Kerr as Equipment Manager. During that time Mike's shop developed a wide variety of specialty drilling and grouting equipment as well as participating in the management of key projects. Kerr was a leading importer of Krupp drilling rigs from Germany and it was at that time that Mike's long relationship with European equipment began, including teaching himself the German language. In 1988, Ingersoll-Rand Company purchased a German drill manufacturer, Klemm Bohrtechnik and recruited Mike to join I-R as an application specialist. During Mike's six years with I-R he was promoted through various positions to Sales Manager, Special Drilling Products, with sales responsibility for the Americas. Mike traveled extensively developing opportunities for the German drilling equipment. He trained I-R sales staff and technicians; developed marketing strategies and published articles for key industry journals. In 1995, due to a shift of their international goals, I-R decided to seek a buyer for Klemm. In August of 1995 Mike left I-R to restart his old business and eventually became a full service, stocking, equipment dealer. In December of 2006 Mike sold Construction Equipment Service to Casagrande SpA. Currently Mike is the President of the new company formed from the sale, Casagrande USA, Inc.

Kathy left Kerr in 1990 to devote full time to her family and community service. In addition to raising two children while her husband traveled extensively, she became Assistant Coordinator of Catholic Family Charities Meals on Wheels program.
